From 21 to 25 October, Slow Food’s Salone del Gusto is back again in Turin (www.salonedelgusto.it), the most prestigious international event devoted entirely to food where you can savour and rediscover the flavours of five continents: cheese, sweet foods, conserves, salami and then a whole array of other delicious proposals through to spirits, pasta and fish. About 70km away from Turin there is the Wine Museum – WI-MU created in the historical rooms of Falletti Castle in Barolo, in the heart of the Langhe area, which awaits all wine lovers for an exciting journey through the products, culture and tradition of wine by means of a series of evocations and references involving dark and light, sounds and colours, all designed by François Confino. Or then there is the 80th International Fair of the White Truffle at Alba from 9 October to 14 November – a chance in a lifetime to experience one of the most valued truffles, considered by all the European royal courts of the 18th century as one of the most exquisite of foods.
