Getting around

What with Turin city’s public transport...

and the suburban lines going to the rest of the province, the efficient railway service, tourist transport, the lift in the Mole Antonelliana and the historical rack railway of Superga, getting around the Turin area is not just fascinating it is also a way of being able to leave your car behind and travel in total relaxation.
However, if you really cannot do without your own vehicle, particular attention must be paid to Turin's ZTL (Limited Traffic Areas): split into various categories according to days and times of limits, they have been created to increase road safety and encourage usage of public transport. Even if arriving by car in the city, public transport can still be used: just a short distance from the motorway exits there are convenient interchange car parks from which the city centre can easily be reached by bus.
