An exhibition on the Pictorialism movement that sought to create a pictorial image through photography, which reached its peak during the late 19th and early 20th centuries in the US and the more industrialised countries of Europe. Italian pictorialist photographers were on a par with European and American pictorial masters, successfully showing at the various international exhibitions of artistic photography: one of its leading Italian lights was Domenico Riccardo Peretti-Griva with his poetic “photographic impressions”.
