On the tenth anniversary since its inauguration, the Venaria Reale presents a major exhibition following on from the one that officially opened the complex for the first time to the public, dedicated to the Palace and the history of the Savoy dynasty. The previous exhibition started from the 16th century and concluded with the first events of the Savoy-Carignano branch during the Restoration, while the current one tells of the dynasty in the period between 1860 and 1920. Over 100 work coming from Palaces all over Italia show how the Savoy designed and defined Italian royalty: prestigious loans from the Quirinale, Palazzo Pitti, Palazzo Reale in Napoli and the Palace of Caserta tell of the system of Italian Palaces which spread from Napoli to Roma, Monza and Venezia, presenting them as a national system of Royal Residences. Highlights in the display are the throne of kings, the cabinet for the crown, the cradle for the prince of Napoli and the 1888 painting Genio della monarchia by the great Brazilian artist Pedro Amerigo in homage to Umberto I.
