CASTELLO DI TORRE CANAVESE E GALLERIA D'ANTIQUARIATO DATRINO

Castle
Presumably of Arduino origin, the castle of Torre Canavese is said to have been built on an existing Romanesque tower by a son of Arduino in 998. Strongly altered during the 19th century, only the original tower, the walls surrounding the top of the hill and the chapel now remain.
Purchased in 1968 by a family of art dealers, the Datrino, from the then owners, the Counts Balbo from Vinadio. Among its many activities, the Antique Gallery has hosted very valuable exhibitions such as “I Tesori dal Cremlino (Treasures from the Kremlin)” (1933) and “Gemme e Diamanti (Gemstones and Diamonds)” (1994).
