Exhibition dedicated to Anne Imhof (Giessen, Germany, 1978), an artist awarded with the Golden Lion for the German pavilion at the 2017 Venezia Biennale: installations, paintings and sculptures in an unprecedented display of new and recent works, including a selection of drawings never before exhibited.

Imhof’s works investigate the concept of identity in the digital age and the possibilities of looking at and being looked at, performing and being performed; they also interact with a group of historical masterpieces: the oil on canvas “Narcissus” by Caravaggio, “The Madwoman” by Giacomo Balla; “Study for Portrait IX” by Francis Bacon and “Allegory (The brawl)” by Dosso Dossi. There will also be “The Penitent Magdalene” attributed to Andrea Vaccaro and “Samson and Dalila” by Artemisia Gentileschi.
