MOSTRA "INTAGLI ALPINI. LEGNI DECORATI FRA VALLI VALDESI E QUEYRAS"

CULTURE & TRADITION
-
The Waldensian Valleys are part of an Alpine area where the carving decoration of wooden objects was a widespread practice for a long time, particularly between the 18th and 19th centuries.
The Waldensian Museum of Torre Pellice preserves over forty carved and often multi-colored artefacts. From the study of this nucleus, a project of a census began at other museums in the area and above all private collections: the research resulted in an exhibition, open from May 13th to  October 15th, 2021, in which almost 200 objects coming from the Waldensian Valleys and Queyras will be visible for the first time, brought together only for this occasion.
