MUSEO DEL GRANDE TORINO E DELLA LEGGENDA GRANATA

Museum
Inaugurated in 2002 (at the time at the Basilica of Superga), since 2008 the Museum of the Grande Torino and the Granata Legend has been housed in the prestigious venue of Villa Claretta Assandri, set in the park of the same name in Grugliasco.

The museum is managed by the Associazione Memoria Storica Granata, composed of volunteers. The social purpose of the A.M.S.G. is the acquisition, cataloguing and preservation of every object, photograph, text or other memento, even in oral form, concerning the history of the Torino football team, in order to preserve and spread its history and legend.

To the objects recovered from the demolition of the Filadelfia Stadium were added memorabilia from all over Italy. At first exhibited in itinerant form throughout Italy (more than 150 exhibitions have been set up) In the 650 square metres of the Museum you can see particularly valuable memorabilia such as part of the grandstand and the furnishings of the Filadelfia Stadium, the historic cornet of the ’Trombettiere’ that gave the charge to the Grande Torino players, the wheel and propeller of the plane that crashed at Superga, Gigi Meroni’s Fiat Balilla, as well as original memorabilia such as documents, photographs, jerseys and personal items.

For reasons of safety and protection of the exhibits, visits are exclusively guided. The duration of the visit is approximately one and a half hours, during which the volunteers will take you on a fascinating journey, narrating the events of a historic football club and the historical context in which they took place.
