COME PARLA UN RITRATTO. DIPINTI POCO NOTI DALLE COLLEZIONI REALI

CULTURE & TRADITION
-
Portraits are back in the spotlight at the Royal Museums of Turin with the exhibition “Come parla un ritratto. Dipinti poco noti dalle collezioni reali”. Little-Known Paintings from the Royal Collection, hosted in the Spazio Scoperte of the Galleria Sabauda. Created as part of a didactic-training project launched in 2018 with the Department of Historical Studies of the University of Turin, the exhibition focuses on the themes of portraiture and the vibrancy of figurative culture at the Savoy court. Between international models, from Titian to Clouet, to Van Dyck and Meytens, suggestions and local reinterpretations, the exhibition proposes a series of hypotheses that deserve further investigation, both on an iconographic and attributive level.
