CONCERTO AL FORTE

In the evocative setting of Europe’s largest fortified structure, books and music find a home for an event that sees the collaboration of the literary book and music festival Scritto Misto and the Pinerolo Music Academy. At 4 p.m. musical introduction and presentation, together with the authors, of Cammin di nostra vita by Joram Gabbio and Lo Scisma emerso by Francesco Antonioli and Laura Verrano. This is followed by a concert by pianist Daniele Fasani. Pieces by three composers who revolutionised the contemporary piano repertoire, each one capable - to use Helmut Lachenmann’s words - of constructing "his own personal piano": Frederic Rzewski, perhaps the most important pianist/composer of the second half of the 20th century; John Cage, inventor of the so-called prepared piano; Salvatore Sciarrino, Golden Lion at the Venice Biennale.
