The birth of the Reggia di Venaria and the town, as well as their toponym, are due to the hunting practice that the Savoy court carried out in the territory, once called Altessano Superiore, since the seventeenth century and which involved frequent ceremonies and rituals related to St Uberto.

The celebrations at the Reggia di Venaria for St Uberto still today culminate with the Mass devoted to the Saint which is celebrated in the Chapel of the Reggia of the same name at 11:15am, with fascinating musical accompaniments referring to the history and traditions of the place.
