GIRO D'ITALIA 2024

The Giro d'Italia 2024 starts from Torino.


Piedmont will be the starting region for the Giro d'Italia 2024 and will host the first 3 stages of the competition. A "regal" start, which will continue with a tribute to the soccer team Grande Torino at Basilica di Superga. Piedmont will host the first four stages, including the start, for the fourth time in history, after the 1961, 2011, 2021 past editions.

 

Let's look in detail at the stages that will involve Torino and Piedmont during the Giro d'Italia 2024:


Stage 1, May 4, Venaria Reale-Torino, 136 km

A challenging first day with a complex finish that will challenge the captains from the start. From Venaria Reale towards Torino, crossing the Superga hill for a tribute on the 75th anniversary of the tragedy involving the Grande Torino. It continues to reach the Lungo Po towards Moncalieri.


Stage 2, May 5, San Francesco al Campo - Sanctuary of Oropa (Biella), 150 km.

Departure from the city of the velodrome also home to Filippo Ganna, then through the Canavese and out of the province of Torino, toward Biella: 13 km of climbing to the Sanctuary of Oropa, famous for Marco Pantani's feat in 1999.


Stage 3, May 6, Novara - Fossano, 165 km.

Scenic stage, suitable for sprinters, but they will have to win the sprint. From the rice of Novara and Vercelli to the hills of Monferrato, between Lu and Cherasco, to the stage leading to the finish.


Stage 4, May 7, Acqui Terme and exit from Piedmont.

Acqui Terme is the last stage before continuing the compeition along the Italian country.
