Two temporary exhibitions dedicated to the University of Turin’s non-European collections and their relationship with the Dominican Republic will open to the public on 7 October 2021, which the Consortium of the Royal Residences of Savoy has chosen to host in order to promote and highlight a precious cultural heritage of the territory that would otherwise not be accessible to the public.
The exhibitions are: Italian Heritage in the Dominican Republic, curated by Andrea Canepari, and The World in a Room. Precious testimonies of non-European cultures from the collections of the University of Turin, curated by Cecilia Pennacini. Italian Heritage in the Dominican Republic, presents a photographic journey that narrates the age-old dialogue between Italy and the Dominican Republic.
The exhibition contributes to the enhancement of the Italian cultural heritage in the Dominican Republic, focusing on the exemplary stories of famous Italians who have played particularly important roles in that context.
