In all these years, the purpose of Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo has not changed: the company is still made up of professional (male) dancers who perform the vast repertoire of ballet and modern dance, while respecting the canonical rules of traditional classical ballet.
The comic aspect in their performances is achieved by exaggerating foibles, accidents and exaggerating the typical characteristics of strict dance. Seeing men dance in all possible roles - with their heavy bodies delicately balancing on their toes like swans, sylphs, water sprites, romantic princesses, anguished Victorian women, etc. - enhances the spirit of dance as a form of ballet. - enhances the spirit of dance as an art form, delighting and entertaining both experienced and non-expert audiences.
