From 22 September 2022 to 22 January 2023, the Gallerie d’Italia in Turin will host a major monographic exhibition dedicated to Lisetta Carmi, one of the most interesting personalities on the Italian photographic scene, who recently passed away at the age of 98.
The exhibition will feature more than 150 photos taken between the 1960s and 1970s, including some of the most salient works of her work: from the extraordinary reportage on the world of transvestites, the only one of its kind and which became a cult book in the 1970s, with its completely new colour version, to the documentation of childbirth, as well as photographic works dedicated to the world of work in Italy and abroad and portraits of Ezra Pound.
