With the opening of the first two windows of the Advent Calendar, on Thursday 1 December at 5.30 p.m., by the Turin Fire Brigade, the programme of ’Christmas in Turin, what a show!’ kicks off, which will be officially inaugurated with a big city party on the afternoon of 8 December: from the unveiling of Emanuele Luzzati’s Nativity scene in the new setting of the Gardens of Piazza Don Pollarolo to the lighting of the Christmas tree in Piazzetta Reale and the new LED lighting on the facade of Palazzo Civico, designed by artist Luca Bigazzi.

Streets, alleys and squares of the Piedmontese capital, already illuminated by the magic of the Luci d’Artista works, will be the stage for a rich programme of events.

This year’s Christmas Markets will feature Christmas-themed commercial events spread throughout the city, lasting up to a single day.

An absolute novelty of the 2022 edition will be the possibility of entering Palazzo Civico to admire the Christmas tree in the courtyard and to leave letters with wishes for 2023 in a transparent display case.

Special Christmas balls
, with a diameter of 2 metres, will be positioned in the streets and squares of the centre, creating poetic and unusual views to be photographed.
