Turin is never without events, and the opportunities to enjoy art, culture and nature are endless... also this summer of 2020, a particular one, offers plenty of opportunities, all of them totally safe and in compliance with the simple but fundamental rules of prevention.
The refrain of the hot urban season is #openairturin: guided tours to the Royal Gardens and summer venues, where different kinds of events take place: the movie arenas in the most populated districts - Barriera di Milano and San Salvario - and in the suggestive historical frames of Palazzo Reale and Castello del Valentino, also with silent movie screenings.
Also, it must be remembered that Turin is the “City of Cinema 2020”. Among the numerous appointments, you can still visit the exhibition “Cinemaddosso” at the National Museum of Cinema, inside the Mole Antonelliana !
Regarding exhibitions, another must is “Sfida al Barocco” at the Reggia di Venaria (an opportunity to visit this Royal Residence along with the others, UNESCO World Heritage Sites, where other events are scheduled); the exhibitions at Palazzo Madama are dedicated the precious silverware of Piedmontese production, while the great masters of contemporary sculpture are on view in the courtyard of the Accorsi-Ometto Museum. At the MAUTO-National Automobile Museum a tribute to the legendary Lancia Aurelia can be visited.
Summer in Turin is always synonymous with music and shows... how could we do without? The Torino Jazz Festival will not stop: it has been postponed to the autumn, but it offers a preview at the end of August for lovers of live music; the Unione Musicale will stage its project “Camera d’estate” with the great international chamber music repertoire as protagonist; MITO Settembre Musica is also scheduled, and this year it will be held in outdoor venues. And finally, “Summer Plays”, the summer evenings of Teatro Carignano and TPE-Teatro Piemonte Europa, features three months of shows.
We can rightly say that Turin never stops!
