Ciliegia di Pecetto

Pecetto cherries are fruit of the species Prunus avium variety Juliana, with tender pulp (in Italian ciliegie propria, in Piedmontese cirese or cerese) and Prunus Avium, variety Duracina, with firm pulp (in Italian duroni, in Piedmontese graffion). In the hills around Turin and Chierese, due to the favourable soil and climate characteristics of the area, ancient varieties or clones have become locally established and cultivated according to environmentally sustainable and organic fruit-growing techniques.

he Ratafià liqueur is typical of the Province of Turin and is produced from Pecetto's grafioni.

At Pecetto, the fruit is celebrated during the Cherry Festival in June.
