Between woodland and high-altitude roads, a loop that brings us closer to the Gran Bosco Natural Park in Salbertrand and a part of the network of military roads that run along the dividing point between the Susa and Chisone valleys. We depart from the Tourist Office in Sauze d’Oulx, also known for its bike park, towards Monfol, until the asphalt ends: from here we start to climb up in the Gran Bosco towards the Colle Blegier, at 2380m above sea level. Here we embark on the Strada dell’Assietta of the slope of the Chisone Valley, and follow it westwards (towards Sestriere) all the way to Colle di Costa Piana, where the road turns back onto the Susa Valley side to arrive at Colle Bourget. With a final change of slope, we take on the final stretch to Colle Basset: from here, either descending on the dirt track or along the bike park paths, we return to Sauze d’Oulx crossing Sportinia and Pian della Rocca; the road turns back to asphalt to lead us to our original point of departure.
