With a difference in altitude of about 400m and a duration of between two and three hours, the via ferrata of Pont Canavese is challenging but not prohibitive or particularly difficult.
From Turin, Rivarolo, Cuorgnè, Pont Canavese (SS460), surpassed Pont Canavese follow the ring road in the village of Sarro, on the right there is an obvious shrine and always on the right a large space on the provincial same right to the parking lot. Overcoming the gate (the padlock is open for the passage of pedestrians) with directions to the ferrataand follow the obvious uphill road after a while it becomes a path. To reach the start of the via ferrata takes about 15/20 minutes.
The Ferrata was set up on the rocks to clear south slopes of Punta Arbella, it is equipped with large metal brackets and a km. the sheathed cable. The first sector is a rope bridge 4-rope length of about 30 meters, with its wall of variant if you wanted to avoid; the presence of a double rope for the support of the feet and of two lateral ropes for hands makes it very stable and sturdy, the top rope instead serves to make sure.
Overcoming the gate follow the signs to the ferrataand continue the obvious uphill road which later becomes a path and you arrive to the start of the railway.
The route is divided into two sectors (the first there is a rope bridge) connected to each other by a slightly downward path in the forest of chestnut trees. There are short stretches slightly overhanging along the way. The rest is easier and the via ferrata may also be addressed by who is less trained. The path ends reaching a shrine along the trail that connects the Pont Piancerese township.
All directions are good for return: right down towards Pont (Pian Rastello) and on the left, slightly uphill, you come to the village and within minutes of paved road take the trail of Deir -bianco showing the base of the wall along the main road.
