The typical dishes and old local recipes still reign supreme on the tables of Torino and its province in an ever vibrant tradition passed down through the centuries to the present day, taking the same unaltered care in the choice of raw materials.
In Piemonte, each meal worthy of the name begins with an almost infinite array of delicious appetisers of meat, fish and vegetables. Although traditional appetisers can be found in Torino's menus all year long, five really famous and tasty ones are essential for the summer:
Carne cruda battuta al coltello, succulent finely chopped Piemonte beef
Acciughe al verde, appetising anchovies served on a sauce made of parsley
Peperoni con bagna caod, a perfect match between local peppers and the classic anchovy sauce
Russian salad, a fresh appetiser of vegetables and mayonnaise
Vitello tonnato, veal with tuna sauce, the king of Piemonte appetisers

When: each weekend from July to September


But it doesn't end there!
Apart from the appetisers, in the participating establishments you can also find famous first courses (such as Agnolotti ravioli), great classics (including the Finanziera stew) and end with a delicious dessert (perhaps a Bonet…).
