LA GIORNATA DI UNA SIGNORA - ABITI DELLA COLLEZIONE ROBERTO DEVALLE

CULTURE & TRADITION
-
A range of clothes from the Roberto Devalle Collection belonging to the period 1895-1925 are being exhibited in the museum’s halls. Thanks to the curatorship of Silvia Mira, fashion historian, the visitor is taken on the discovery of a world to be decoded: the clothes represent a sort of unwritten language that take us back to specific social and political realities, and speak of differences and equalities, of belonging and exclusion. The museum setting turns into the perfect backdrop to set off significant garments, capable of transporting the audience into a reality and a distant, and now forgotten, rituality. There is perfect dialogue between the outfits displayed in the halls and the paintings of the concomitant Giacomo Grosso exhibition. A season between painting and academy, to emphasise that paintings and textiles, as art and fashion, are joined together at a precise historical moment and at the evolution of fashion and attire.
