LEONARDO E GLI SCRITTI DI PITTURA IN EUROPA: FONTI E RICEZIONE

CULTURE & TRADITION
-
Italian was the language of the arts of modern Europe: not only because, for centuries, in the eyes of foreign painters and architects, Italia represented the country where one could learn a new figurative language, but also because the Italian vocabulary was and still is the most appropriate to talk about this visual and aesthetic novelty.
The research group meets in Turin, after a first stop in Paris, to investigate the fascinating and complex intersections between the two codes, the visual one and the verbal one, starting from the writings and paintings of Leonardo, who was certainly one of the most famous and original interpreters of the many languages of the Italian Renaissance.
