PORCELLANE DA RE. UN DONO PER VITTORIO AMEDEO II

CULTURE & TRADITION
-
The “Service of the King of Sardinia”, put up for sale in London by Christie’s on 4 July 2019 and purchased by the Torino Museums Foundation, constitutes an extraordinary rediscovery in the history of European porcelain. Among the most important ever produced by the prestigious Meissen manufacture, it was donated by Augusto the Strong, in 1725, to the King of Sardegna Vittorio Amedeo II and was painted by the main painter of the factory, Johann Gregorius Höroldt.
