A small exhibition from the collection of Livio Ambrogio, dedicated to the masterpieces of the contemporary bookbinder from Torino Luciano Fagnola, an artisan master who over the past twenty years has experimented different techniques to decorate the covers of famous books, edited by excellent printers such as Alberto Tallone. The bindings are “worked” with polychrome leather inlay work, dry and embossed impressions, polychrome mosaics with decorations in coloured china or acrylic or even decorations with metallic elements, created following projects and sketches by artists such as Francesco Casorati, Ugo Nespolo and Guido Giordano. On display are 28 literary texts, both poetic and theatrical, including Dante Alighieri’s Divina Commedia, Francesco d’Assisi’s Cantico delle Creature, Carlo Collodi’s Pinocchio, Pierre-Augustin Caron de Beaumarchais’ The Marriage of Figaro and Edgar Allan Poe’s Tales.
