CULTURE & TRADITION
Considered one of the greatest exponents of the Land Art for the symbiotic relationship with the territory, Richard Long has often actually dissociated himself from this label by not sharing their approach to the territory with the artists of the Land Art, distant from his poetics in which men do not distort nature but interact with it in their own measure. The artist draws the primary element, necessary for the realization of his work, from his being, from time and from nature. Stones, wood and mud are shaped by the sculpture’s energy into simple forms like circles, lines and ellipses.
