Every first Saturday of the month, take a walk to discover the architecture linked to Adriano Olivetti's industrial and socio-cultural project, which has become a UNESCO World Heritage Site under the title “Ivrea, 20th-century industrial city”: the buildings for industrial production, residential areas and social services, designed by the most famous architects and urban planners of the 20th century, are a testament to Olivetti's innovative policy.
The tour includes admission to the Visitor Centre (Factory Council) at Via Jervis 11, which presents the history of the buildings through installations and photographic material and illustrates the main values that have been recognised as constituting the Outstanding Universal Value of “Ivrea, 20th-century industrial city”, a visit to an apartment in the residence known as “Talponia” and entry to the nursery school built between 1939 and 1941 by architects Figini and Pollini (the site is undergoing renovation, so accessibility must be checked on a case-by-case basis).
The rest of the tour takes place outdoors
