From the hamlet of Perlà in Bobbio Pellice you climb the green Comba dei Carbonieri, the confluence of the Val Pellice, through to Rifugio Barbara Lowrie (1753m). A distance of approximately 9km, climbing 1045 metres, it develops along an uninterrupted ascent with an average slope of more than 10%, with several points over 20%. Owing to these features, it is ranked as one of the toughest climbs in Italy. Every year, a timed climb is raced on this route.
