PALAZZO ASINARI DI SAN MARZANO EX PALAZZO CARPANO

Palace
Built in 1684 to a design by Michelangelo Garove, the noble palace was purchased in 1946 by Cavalier Silvio Turati as the headquarters of the Carpano Society. Adorned with spiral columns, stuccoes, statues and Guarini forms, it has flats decorated to a design by Benedetto Alfieri in the mid-18th century. The palace, characterised by an atrium that is one of the best known and most reproduced in Turin, decorated with twisted columns, stuccoes, statues and Guarini forms, was built in 1684 to a design by Michelangelo Garove, engineer to the Duke of Savoy and the Prince of Carignano, and belongs, together with the Barolo, Graneri and Morozzo palaces, to the group of noble residences erected at the end of the 17th century with markedly sumptuous features. The garden, enriched in the 19th century with very rare exotic plants, has been obliterated by urban development, and since 1885 the courtyard has been enclosed by a neo-Baroque backdrop designed by Camillo Boggio.

The building is not open to the public
