ALESSANDRO DI BATTISTA. ASSANGE

MUSIC & SHOWS
Alessandro Di Battista traces in the theatre the incredible events of journalist Julian Assange, founder of the WikiLeaks website and imprisoned for doing his job: reporting the news. From the publication of secret documents proving the war crimes of various nations, with the United States in the lead, to the denunciations he underwent, passing through his years as a political refugee in the Ecuadorian embassy in London, up to his arrest and detention in the British maximum security prison of Belmarsh: for 12 years Assange has not seen the light of day and today risks extradition to the USA and life imprisonment. Di Battista brings his story to the stage. Striking one to educate a hundred, a story that concerns freedom of the press in the West, hence our own freedom.
