VISITA ALLA CERTOSA REALE - COLLEGNO

CULTURE & TRADITION
-
The Charterhouse Royal, founded in 1641 at the behest of Marie-Christine of France, first Madame Royal, was run by Carthusian monks until the arrival of Napoleon in 1802. Re-opened in 1816 by the Savoys, from 1853 it was home to the Royal Asylum until its closure in 1980. The visit conducted by the Collegno Ciceroni takes place between the historical sites of the complex, usually closed to the public, with precious anecdotes that will make visitors relive the different moments of the important past of the Certosa Reale, which too many people still hastily identify as ’the asylum’. Booking required by the Sunday before.
