Fenestrelle

Thanks to its intermediate position between the Upper and Lower Val Chisone, Fenestrelle has always been a strategic hub for the political and military control of the entire valley.
Of particular note is the Parish Church built in 1689 at the behest of King Louis XIV of France and dedicated to Saint Louis IX.
In its territory there is the Fort of Fenestrelle, a fortified complex erected from the 18th to the 19th century, called the great Piedmontese wall because of its size and its development along the entire left side of the valley for over 3 kilometres on a drop of about 635 metres.
