Avigliana

Located in a natural morainic amphitheatre, Avigliana is an important town in the lower Susa Valley. An authentic jewel of the medieval era, it is situated on the slopes of Mount Pirchiriano, on which stands the Sacra di San Michele, a religious architectural complex of great pride for the entire valley.

For art and history enthusiasts, this municipality is home to buildings and structures from different eras, from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance to the modern age, including Piazza Santa Maria, the Circular Tower and the Clock Tower, Villa Cantamerlo, the ruins of the Castle located on Mount Pezzulano, which can be easily reached from the town centre.

Avigliana is also the town of the two lakes where nature lovers and sports enthusiasts can find space for their passions. The lakes, which are part of the Parco Alpi Cozie, are two mirrors of crystal-clear water set in a large green area and offer the possibility of practising different water sports such as canoeing, sailing and windsurfing as well as admiring and photographing the typical fauna of the area, but also of enjoying enchanting sunsets while sampling typical products of the valley at local restaurants just a few metres from the shore.
